  17. Get a grip here!! Amiga Technologies IS doing R&D!! Where the heck did the
  18. browsers come from (the updated stuff they are fixing to turn loose of)?
  19. What the heck is Olaf Barthel doing? What are those guys at the 'unknown'
  20. company doing who are working on software for Amiga Technologies? Is PhaseV
  21. in the PPC thing all alone, no help, support, nothing from Amiga
  22. Technologies?

  54. See ... this isn't right, to me. Those guys/gals are working hard to get the
  55. Amiga going again. No, not EVERYTHING is 'perfect'. We don't live in that
  56. kind of world fortunately. BUT, I can say this ... not ONE time yet has
  57. anyone at Amiga Technologies lied to us like the C= management used to do.
  58. There's been no 'vapor' that hasn't become reality and no excuses for what they
  59. decide to do. They just DO IT! I happen to like that in a management team.

  61. They HAVE listened every time we have rationally sent them business-like
  62. requests that are supported with facts. They have even 'ventured out' and
  63. taken a chance or two at OUR bidding (selling thru Escom stores).

  65. I have no need TODAY to make a move to or from the Amiga. The 3000/25 is
  66. plenty for the things I like to do. The software, both Aminet and commercial
  67. (Softwood, Baud Bandit, ATalkIII, and some games for the kids) does
  68. EVERYTHING I need or want to do.

  70. BUT, I AM AN IMPULSE BUYER! And my present impulse is to own that Amiga that
  71. Dr Kittel told me he's dreaming of: Power Amiga that not only has the SAME
  72. (user) look and feel, but will be faster, small overhead (in comparison to
  73. others), cross platform porting, something that will make the blood pump and
  74. the mind reel! And he and Amiga Technologies can NOT get us there from here
  75. unless they are allowed to do what they have to do (business-wise) to get us
  76. there. No one is gonna get 'stung' with a 1200, 4000, or 3000. We'll have
  77. the PhaseV option of the PPC card or the Power Amiga. Or BOTH if ya have the
  78. bucks and the desire!

  80. They DO have a plan. It has been articulated by Petro, Gilles, Dr Kittel and
  81. others who have seen it. They have followed it to a tee so far. I have no
  82. reason to doubt (at this time) that they want to and will continue to follow
  83. that plan to the letter. I will tell everyone here what I told Dr Kittel and
  84. others ... the first time I get lied to, I am OUT OF HERE FOREVER! Until
  85. then, Amiga Technologies should be given all the rope they need to hang
  86. themselves. I will continue to support them in every way I can. I will be
  87. the 'Water Boy', the 'Apologist', the 'gormless enthusiast' or whatever else
  88. will be said ... and be PROUD to be all these things if it continues to
  89. breathe life into the Amiga and if it continues the spirit of the Amiga that wa
  90. s
  91. exibited by all the Amiga greats that we have come to know and love.

  93. And please, we should all remember that SOME (not all) of those Amiga greats
  94. are now working with and/or for Amiga Technologies and/or the Amiga again.
  95. For many of them, their hearts, their guts, their wisdom, their energy,
  96. their very lives are still involved with us and the Amiga. We do OWE them
  97. for that!

  99. And for what it's worth ... I'd carry water for Dr Kittel, Randall Jessup,
  100. Dave Haynie, and any of the rest of the guys ... any time, any place!

  102. They deserve that for what they have given us of themselves!!
